The 105th anniversary celebration of the Ceylon Estate Staffs' Union was held on September 07 at the Ajanta Hotel in Hatton.
The Minister of Plantations and Community Infrastructure, Samantha Vidyarathna, is scheduled to participate as the chief guest at the anniversary celebration of the Estate Services Association, which is being held under the theme “A Century of Progress to the Gateway to a New World.”
This anniversary celebration will be held under the patronage of the President of the Ceylon Estate Staffs' Union, Nishantha Wanniarachchi, General Secretary Chathuraya Samarasinghe and other leaders of the association, with the participation of estate staff members working in estates across the island. Many trade union leaders, including leaders of the plantation industry, have been invited for the occasion.
The Ceylon Estate Staffs' Union is a professional association of staff members working in the plantation industry and is one of the oldest professional associations in Sri Lanka, founded in 1920.
